Don't believe it Children, these days, can grow up without tooth decay and damaging amalgam fillings. In fact, dentistry is so good that teeth decay in adults should also be a thing of the past.

Brush Up Your Oral Hygiene

Luck plays quite a big role when it comes to tooth decay and so if you’re one of those people that have a mouth full of amalgam fillings and yet you floss and brush several times a day, it may be simply that your tooth enamel is not as effective as it is for other people. However, it is never too late to improve your smile especially as dental technology is at hand to turn unsightly fillings and crooked, stained teeth into a Hollywood smile at any stage of your life.

Tooth decay does not go unnoticed; it causes toothache and it can be one of the causes of bad breath. If you think that you have tooth decay no amount of mouth wash or brushing will help; the only solution is to visit your local dental practice and get good, professional treatment. The days of pain from a dentist’s drill are long gone and any discomfort is nothing when compared to the life reducing pain caused by tooth decay.

Tooth Decay Prevention

An apple a day keeps the doctor away but it can also help to keep the dentist at bay too. Apple juice, however, can be corrosive, and so when you have eaten an apple, to avoid damage to your enamel and the risk of subsequent tooth decay, it is advisable to wash your mouth out with water or a good mouth wash.

Here is a list of 5 reasons why some people suffer tooth decay:

1.Sweets are high in glucose and sugar and stick around your teeth. If you have to eat sweets make sure you brush your teeth periodically throughout the day to avoid tooth decay.

2.Clean your teeth after every meal. Many foods contain sugars and starches which can cause tooth decay if left in teeth, because the bacteria in your mouth turns food particles into acids that attack your teeth’s enamel.

3.Smoking causes bad breath, stains your teeth, encourages the build-up of plaque and tartar, and increases the risk of gum disease resulting in the exposure of roots and subsequent tooth decay. There is also a risk of developing oral cancer.

4.Tongue piercing may be fun, even shocking, but it can also be the cause of tooth decay in young people. It is very easy for mouth jewellery to rub against teeth causing enamel to erode, allowing bacteria to develop into tooth decay.

5.Teeth used as tools to open a bottle of nail varnish, or some other action that should be undertaken by a pair of pliers, can cause damage to tooth enamel or, even, dislodge a root from its base, resulting in tooth decay that can lead to the loss of a tooth.

People often take much more care of their hair and skin than they do of their teeth. Nobody likes tooth decay and to avoid it, in general, all you need do is look after your dental hygiene. However, if you grind your teeth in your sleep that may be the cause of your tooth decay; the answer is to visit your dentist and ask to be fitted with a mouth card for wearing at night.

God have given us perfect smile free of cost which needs to be taken care of when we suffer from tooth decay by root canal treatment.
