Would Twitter Win Or Lose When Facebook And Google+ Battles (Debate)
In the last couple of weeks i heard many opinions, analysis and predictions about the future of Twitter. Does the recent events in the social networking arena will benefit or hurt the popular micro-blogging social network?
The social media industry is going wild lately because of two major players: Facebook has introduced in its F8 conference many new changes and updates including the interesting “Timeline” profile and Google+ went open to the general public after 3 months of allowing invited-only new users to register.
The debate i want to present here is if Twitter going to lose or win from the struggle between the two. Here are the two approaches:
Twitter Wins
During the last few years, Twitter had a sharp steady increase of users and Tweets, parallel to the rise of Facebook which just recently crossed the 800 million users line. If they were pure competitors, Facebook was supposed to eliminate Twitter long time ago but it didn’t. In fact, just this month Twitter celebrated 100 million active users.
If we can learn something from this is that for many social networking users, Facebook and Twitter are complementary services that can exist side by side. The continuation of this mutual growth only reinforcing the conclusion that Twitter isn’t a social network like Facebook or Google+ for that matter.
Twitter answers a simple important need of the user- It is a platform to deliver and to share short messages fast from certain individuals or organizations to a crowd that craves to hear them. Twitter is still the best comfortable platform to do it, even after the new (Copied) Subscribe button of Facebook.
If Twitter will continue to keep this advantage while renewing and innovating, users will keep seeing it as a vital complementary service to other social networks.
Twitter Loses
In the last few months Google+ and Facebook keep innovate and present new features and upgrades while gathering positive reviews and praises. At that time, Twitter didn’t introduced even one worthwhile special feature (you can’t possibly call Image Galleries innovative). Renewing and innovating are the most precious values of any technology company, especially on such a competitive arena.
Additionally, Twitter’s unique elements keeping to worn down as other social networks adding similar features- Google+ with the possibility to follow anyone with Circles and Facebook with the Subscribe button. Even if Twitter presents better efficient messaging platform, at some point it simply wouldn’t be enough to compete in such a flooded industry.
The fact that Facebook has already more than 800 million users and Google+ is growing in a massive pace, raises the question how many similar services social networks can eventually survive? It is possible that internet users will feel overwhelm with the too many social networks and they will eventually have to choose. And most likely that it will be Twitter to drop out from the race…

Blogging platform

Following on from our article on making an income from blogging, we take the post one step further and teach you how to give yourself arguably the most powerful blogging platform from which to build your blogging empire!
WordPress is arguably one of the most popular online content management systems, and is a great tool with which to build your first online web journal or Blog. It is free to use, easy to set up thanks to the online wizard and so user friendly and simple, that even a novice user will find it a simple matter to get their blog up and running in a matter of minutes.
There are two main methods of starting the process of building a WordPress blog. You can choose to have the blog hosted on one of the WordPress servers, which is completely free of charge, or alternatively, you can buy your own hosting and domain name, and install the WordPress system on it, and then have a dedicated presence online.
The main advantage of investing in your own domain name is that it looks a lot more professional, and if you are planning to make money from blogging, having your own easy to remember domain will allow users to find you much more easily. Advanced users will find that they can configure the look and feel of a WordPress blog much more easily if it is hosted on their own server, and include advertising and affiliate links much more simply.
The advantage of using the free WordPress hosting service is that it is completely free, is very reliable thanks to the resources of the company providing it, and is much more simple to set up and administer. Blogs hosted on the WordPress server are automatically updated to the latest version of the software, and many of the processes of publicizing a blog are automatic thanks to the way that it is configured.
Once you have set up your account, and chosen a name for your blog, you can use the selection of templates in order to choose a distinctive look and feel that suits your taste, and then you can start writing. It is as simple as that!
WordPress has a simple interface for bloggers that means that you do not even need to know how to create html in order to publish your blog on the internet. You can simply type what you want to write into the editor, and then it will all be formatted for you, leaving you to concentrate on the actual writing and creativity that marks out your blog as individual and worthwhile.
Including links to other web sites and adding pictures to your blog is also a breeze, and is as simple as clicking on a button on the screen. WordPress also offers a range of tools to help you to promote your blog to interested parties, and is flexible enough and powerful enough to allow you to adapt and evolve your blog to your audience. You can tag articles into categories, and organize your writing to make it easy for users to find a particular post that they are interested in, and there is a large and helpful community of other users on hand to give you hints and tips about any problems that you might get stuck with, all of which makes building a WordPress blog a pleasure and a very rewarding.

home based business

Welcome to my blog my name is Jeff and I am trying to establish a home based business so I can spend more time at home vice the office.
Digi Traffic Multiplier
Revealed: the new blogging trick that will flood
your site with targeted traffic…
(…and why it knocks autoblogging into the dirt!)
If you blog to make money, you know how important content is… targeted content pulls in the traffic, and it’s the traffic that makes you money…
But when I started blogging for cash, I found out something you probably know as well… it takes far too much time!
If you want to make money with your blog, you need new content every day. You need it to be relevant. You need it to be fully-armed with SEO. Doing this on one blog will take hours… trying to run multiple blogs (and we all know it’s best to have lots) makes it a 25-hour-a-day job.
But just imagine… imagine if you didn’t need to worry about any of that… if you knew that your blog was being automatically updated… with content based on keywords your visitors had already used to find it, so relevance was guaranteed…
I found a way to do this, and now I’m going to share it with you.
So how did I get all the traffic with none of the work?
I tried lots of things…
I tried outsourcing article writing, but it cost too much and I was always dealing with poor content and missed deadlines…
I tried autoblogging, but it was inefficient and ineffective. What’s the use of having loads of content if none of it is properly targeted? If you’re trying to sell someone a sports car, do you talk to them about gardening? No, of course you don’t. Autoblogging does…
Not only that, but everyone knows Google doesn’t like autoblogs… and if they don’t like your blog, you don’t get traffic. I don’t know about you, but if I’ve got a blog… I want people to be able to find it… and that’s just not going to happen with an autoblog.
I knew there was a better way… I just had to find it. It took a lot of development, but finally I had Digi Traffic Multiplier. This one WordPress plugin lets me update multiple blogs daily… or more often… with completely relevant, search engine optimised content… and I never even have to get out of bed.
Digi Traffic Multiplier does all the work for you. Once you set it going, it is a content generation machine… a robot working tirelessly to bring more traffic to your blog. It doesn’t sleep. It doesn’t miss deadlines. It doesn’t give you irrelevant content.
Just 24/7 targeted content generation.
What Digi Traffic Multiplier does for you:
With the DTM working for you, you’ll be able to:
1. Update your blog with targeted content whenever you want… with no effort! Want a new, targeted post every day, 7 days a week? Of course you do, because new content means new traffic! You give the command and the DTM takes over… posting targeted content directly relevant to your niche… on complete autopilot.
2. Arm yourself with the next generation of content-creation weaponry: old-style autoblogging fills your blog with low-quality content in the hope some of it might work. The DTM works with the precision of a military sniper. A unique algorithm works out the keywords your traffic will be using and generates content directly relevant to them… making every piece a direct hit!
3. Create a conversation that everyone will want to join: it’s a fact that people relate better to content if they feel a personal connection. The DTM comes with a bank of stock images… all with full permission to use alongside quotes and posts… and will automatically post them with the content to give your blog that personal touch.
4. Post targeted content at any level: want something for the front-page? Or maybe a post buried in a sub-page… attracting traffic without disturbing your regular readers? Whichever you need, the DTM does it for you with the click of a button.
5. Maximise your exposure to Google with complete on-page SEO: you know that if Google doesn’t notice you, your blog is just a waste of cyberspace. The DTM automatically optimises every bit of content it generates, practically forcing search engines to pay attention!
6. Use A-grade software for a bargain-basement price: The DTM hasn’t just been hacked together like some other WordPress plugins… I made sure it was engineered by a professional programming team so I knew it was a weapons-grade product. Expensive? Yes it was, but the traffic I’m getting now means it was well worth it… and that’s why you’re far smarter than I am… you waited for me to put in the investment so you can buy it for a fraction of what it cost me to develop!
Not only that… but you get to be branded an expert in your niche
Pretty much regardless of your niche… it’s safe to say you’ve got a lot of competition.
You need to stand out from the crowd…
It’s a proven fact that people have more trust in an answer they are directly told rather than one they just see written down… now, the DTM can’t yet project a hologram of you to answer your visitors’ questions personally (maybe in version 2.0 )… but it can do the next best thing.
You can place an image of yourself next to all the autogenerated answers… instantly creating more trust in your visitors.
And why do you want more trust? Because that means while all your competitors are just posting up anonymous text… your visitors know your face… they have a personal connection with you… they see you as a reliable source, who can be trusted to give high-quality content…
And that’s what makes them sign up to your list!
But what’s the difference between Traffic Multiplication and Autoblogging?
Easy – traffic multiplication is the next level… taking everything that’s good about autoblogging and making it better. Because autoblogging was useful in its day, but the world’s moved on… and if you’re going to be making money in IM, you’d better move with it. Think about it… if you saw a Porsche 911 sitting next to a cart pulled by a donkey, which one would you rather be riding in?
Here’s just a few ways in which traffic multiplication leaves autoblogging in the dust:
Autoblogging Traffic Multiplication
Poorly targeted: Let’s face it, autoblogging targeting is awful… because it doesn’t target. It sprays mud at the wall and hopes some of it sticks… and meanwhile, you get a blog filled with muck. Highly targeted: the DTM uses specific terms your visitors are already using to generate new keywords and find content based directly on these related searches.
Looks rubbish: most autobloggers will just dump content into your blog without a thought for either SEO or how it looks to your visitors… not a good impression, in the unlikely chance they ever find it! Looks stunning: content is automatically given full on-page and SEO, and even better… the pre-loaded images show that these are real questions from real people… instantly making your blog an authentic source of information for your visitors.
Completely generic: autoblogged content looks like a copy-and-paste hack… because it is. The internet’s a big place… you need to stand out… and you’re not going to do it like this. Stand out from the crowd: The DTM lets you upload your own picture so you ’reply’ to these real questions… instant authority! You’re branded an expert source, head and shoulders above the rest of your niche.
Frequently illegal: if you publish someone else’s content without their permission, that’s an infringement of copyright. Does autoblogging check for permission? Of course not… it just grabs, dumps and runs. Completely white-hat content: the DTM only takes content from sources that actively encourage republishing.
Google hates autoblogs: and do you think you can do without Google traffic? If you think you don’t need 70% of internet search traffic then go ahead, keep autoblogging… we’ll be over here, making all that cash you don’t want… Guaranteed Google-friendly: Sure, it’s still autogenerated content… but when it looks as good as this it’ll pass even a manual inspection.
Sounds good, but how do I start making money with Digi Traffic Multiplier?
Just 4 simple steps:
1
Download your copy of DTM and upload to your WordPress blog
2
Follow the step-by-step config instructions
3
Set the DTM to work
4
Sit back and watch your traffic go through the roof!
And that’s it! You don’t need to do any more. And while you’re having fun, the DTM is working… and this is what it’s doing:
Every time someone finds your blog through a search engine, the DTM instantly registers the keyword they used…
Within seconds, the keyword has been checked against Google and Yahoo’s keyword suggestion tools, generating a range of long-tail and synonymic related keywords…
Content is found using these related terms on Yahoo Answers… a completely white-hat source with full permission to republish…
Any content you don’t need is removed… and the rest receives complete and accurate on-page SEO…
The DTM publishes your new content, and you’ve just got a targeted post that’ll draw search engine traffic like moths to a flame… all without you lifting a finger!
It’s that simple. The DTM even works if you’re just starting out with your blog… just seed it a few niche keywords and it’ll generate the content to give you the kickstart you need! You’ll have a river of targeted traffic flowing into your blog… and as we all know, more traffic means more money!
My cast-iron 60 day RISK-FREE guarantee
If you use Digi Traffic Multiplier and are not happy with it – if it doesn’t work for you… if it’s too awkward to use… heck, if you don’t like the colour scheme – all you need to do is send me one e-mail and I’ll refund your money. No complicated forms to fill in, no endless hoops to jump through. Just one e-mail. It’s that simple.
How can I afford to be this generous? Simple – I’m so confident you’ll be impressed that I can afford to make your investment absolutely risk-free.
Not only that, I’m going to be with you every step of the way
Digi Traffic Multiplier is designed to be the easiest content-generation tool on the market, and that doesn’t stop with the product design. To guarantee that this will be one of the easiest ways you’ve ever made money, you will also get access to a dedicated support team.
You will benefit from:
1
Unlimited e-mail support forever:
I think Digi Traffic Multiplier is so easy to use you’ll never need this, but if you ever have a problem then I’m just one e-mail away. Any problem you have, I’ll get back to you inside one working day.
2
Total compatibility guarantee:
You know how annoying it is when WordPress release an update and suddenly all your plugins don’t work, so I’m going to guarantee that will never happen. Digi Traffic Multiplier will be kept up to date with the latest version of WordPress and you’ll receive all of these new editions absolutely free.
3
Regular updates:
If you’ve bought a Digi plugin before, you’ll know that I find it really hard to stop making them better… but I don’t want anyone who’s been brave enough to get in early to miss out. That’s why you’ll get regular updates every time I add a new feature. No monthly payment, no update fee. It’ll be yours, all for free.
The first step to making money with IM is getting the traffic… Digi Traffic Multiplier is CONSTANTLY WORKING to pull an endless flood of traffic into your blog
Traffic is king. It’s as simple as that. You can have piles of opt-ins and amazing offers, but if you don’t have the traffic, you don’t get the money.
More traffic = more profit
But driving traffic is a 24/7 job, and you didn’t get into IM because you wanted to work! This is what Digi Traffic Multiplier offers you – you push one button, and then it is always working to drive traffic your way.
You go for a coffee break, and the DTM is making you money
You go out for a meal with your partner, and the DTM is making you money
You go to bed at night, and the DTM is still making you money
What you do with that traffic is up to you… maybe you want to create a huge list… maybe you want to monetize it with a killer offer… either way, if you don’t have the traffic, you’re not getting any of it.
Sounds good, but what’s it going to cost me?
Let’s think about this in terms of what you get from the investment… how much could you make if you had 10x more traffic flowing into your blog?
That traffic builds your list, or buys your product… you’ll have made $1500 before long, and that number only grows with time.
So if I was charging you $297, that’d be a 5× return on investment… and that’s just the beginning. That’s the kind of payoff that’d make a Wall Street banker weep with jealousy.
All yours for just $47
But I’m not going to sell it to you for $297.
I’m going to slash that price to $47. Just $47 will get you:
High quality content on complete autopilot…
A blog Google can’t keep its eyes off…
More traffic to your site…
More subscriptions to your list…
More money in your pocket!
Wait a minute… I want to use this on all my blogs… will I have to pay $47 each time?
You absolutely will not. You can have a multiple site licence for $97, because there is absolutely no good reason when you have a system this powerful not to get as much out of it as you possibly can.
This is great, but it’d be even better if I could resell blogs I install it on…
You’re absolutely right, on both counts! You want to flip blogs with Digi Traffic Multiplier installed, you go right ahead… all you need is a developer’s licence for $297. And let’s face it… with an offer like this you’ll get that money back with one flip!
Sounds fantastic! Where can I get it?
To get started, just choose the licence that’s right for you and click the “Add to Cart” button below.
Single site personal license – $47
Use it on one of your sites
Add to Cart
Multi site personal license – $97
Use it on all of your sites
Add to Cart
Developer license – $297
Sell blogs you’ve installed it on

P.S. Update all your blogs with relevant content, with full on-page SEO, on complete autopilot! Arm your blog with Digi Traffic Multiplier and leave the old-fashioned autobloggers in the dust!

Make Money Blogging
Posted on : 27-07-2010 | By : Guest Blogger | In : Guest Posts
The following is a guest post by Dr Huria Abdulkadir from moneymakingcow.com.
Blogging has become quite popular over the last decade. There are many different varieties of blogs from personal blogs to business blogs. Blogs are very user friendly and you can make money blogging on your favourite subjects. There are many ways to monetize your blog to earn extra money or build up your blog presence and make a full-time living.
Advertising Programs
One of the initial ways to monetize your blog is to use advertising programs. The most common advertising program is Google Adsense. These are ads that are relevant to the site content and placed throughout the site. Blog owners get paid each time a visitor clicks on the ads.
Another type of advertising program is text ads. These are hyperlinked ads using different words within the body of your blog posts. The words are highlighted much like a hyperlink, but the link sends a reader to an ad. Again bloggers get paid each time an ad is clicked through a text link. The most popular text ad programs are Chitika, AdBrite and MSN Ad center.
Affiliate Programs
An increasing number of blogs use affiliate programs to monetize and make money blogging. Clickbank, Commission Junction and Amazon are affiliate marketing mega-store with thousands of products to offer on your blog. Many of the affiliate products have banners and links that you can place on your blog for added visual effect. Most affiliate programs pay a commission based on sales, however some do pay for specific actions taken by your visitors. Adding affiliate ads to your blog can be lucrative, but you also don’t want to distract people away from your blog. Use affiliate programs with care and do not over crowd your blog with ads.
Sell Ad Space
If you have a popular blog that has a steady flow of daily traffic, you can sell ad space to advertisers in your niche. Advertisers pay a monthly fee to be able to place their ads on your blog. Unlike affiliate programs, you set a specific price of how much you think the ad space is worth. Advertisers are always looking for an opportunity to further promote their product or service. A high traffic blog is prime real estate for high profile advertisers.
Write For Other Blogs
Another good way to make money blogging is to offer your services to other bloggers within your subject. Although it may be difficult to write for some of the higher PR blogs, there are plenty of bloggers willing to pay other bloggers to write for them. This can actually benefit you in two ways. First you get paid to write a blog post and secondly you may even get to place your by-line on the post with a link back to your blog. Not only do you get paid but you get additional traffic as well.
Donations
Many people are placing donation or tip buttons on their blogs as a way to earn a little extra cash. Places like Paypal offer buttons that you can place on your site that people can click on to send you random amounts of money. Most often people write up a small post such as “If you found the information useful, won’t you please support us with a donation” and then add the donation button. You will not get rich off a donation button but it is a cool way to gain a little extra gas money.
Flipping Blogs
Yet another way to earn money blogging on a popular blog is to sell the blog. There are many people that have lucrative businesses doing nothing more than creating popular high traffic blogs and flipping them for profit. Business owner purchase high traffic blogs in their niches to boost sales. There is a lot of work that goes into building and flipping high traffic blogs, but the end result can be extremely lucrative.
There are many ways to make money blogging both directly on the blog and off the blog. Any blog can be monetized to make money with a little research. The key to successful monetization is to keep ads that are relevant to your topic. For off site opportunities, develop a network of associates within the blogging community to find guest posting spots. With a little work you can turn your blog experience into a lucrative and fun way to earn money.

5 Ways To Feng Shui Your Home Office That Will Make You Feel Great
Posted on : 24-07-2010 | By : Guest Blogger | In : Guest Posts
5
The following is a guest post by Lloyd who publishes a leading office desk furniture review website.
Although you sit for 8 or more hours in your office most days of the week, do you really like your office space and more importantly does it work for you? If the answer is no, then it’s time to change it. Im not talking about redecorating your office, I’m talking about Feng Shui. These ancient Chinese principles enable you to manage the flow of energy and invite the ‘right’ kinds of energy into your office. This can create huge improvements in your working life leading to less stress, more money and above all, more enjoyment of your working life. What can you do to start reaping the benefits of feng shui? It starts with these 5 easy steps.
1. Take control of your desk the Feng Shui way – Your desk’s position can influence your life
In Feng Shui where your desk is placed is just as important as what kind of desk you have. Putting your desk in the spot furthest away from the entrance is the way to take command, but wait, there’s more. In Feng Shui, the mountain is the symbol of supportive energy and it should always behind you. If your desk is against the corner, that’s perfect. However if its not, you can create your own mountain with a large plant, piece of sculpture or picture of a mountain. Which ever you choose, it needs to large and behind you. Although you want your desk with a ‘mountain’ behind you, you should still be facing the entrance. This is where business comes in. You want to be able to welcome it rather then turn your back on it. You also need the right desk. The right desk is a desk that works with your own unique energy. A traditional executive office desk means power, while a light and airy desk means flow. If your desk does not truly reflect you or the way you work, change it.
2. De-cluttering your office the Feng Shui way – Clutter is not your friend
Now, you’ve heard you need to keep your office clutter free and in Feng shui, it’s even more important. This is because clutter will trap the energy needed to accomplish tasks. When you de-clutter, the energy becomes un-trapped and flows to you, where it is needed most. Even the neatest of people have an area where clutter happens. This area is the computer area. Don’t let it fool you, that long tangle of intertwining cords will trap the energy that should be going to you. Since we need those cords, the best choice is to hide them. Run them against a wall or under a carpet. (You could buy a carpet just for that.) It’s hard to put away open projects, because they are still open. However, even the greatest multi tasker can’t work on 20 at once. So instead just create easy accessible storage for the other 19. The top of your desk is most certainly not storage. You need a desk with enough options for storage. You can always add more storage later, providing that the storage containers themselves don’t become the new clutter. If you’re not a neat person, then you will need to start somewhere. The perfect place to start is with the top of your desk. Clean it off and find a better home for those papers and other ‘stuff’. Once all the stuff is off your desk, breathe deeply. Do you feel the feng shui energy flowing? If you can’t find homes for all that stuff on your own, it may be time to call in the expert. The organization expert that is. However, now that your desk is clean, you might just be able to find those solutions on your own with your new peace of mind.
3. Accepting Help the Feng Shui way – Welcome these people in your life
At work, you want to have good relationships with clients, co-workers and mentors. There are certain positions in Feng shui that will accomplish this. The two spots in Feng shui that are the most influential in these relationships are the back corner and the corner to the close right of the door. (Both of these spots are assuming you’re coming into the room, not sitting at your desk.) It is in these two corners you should place either the symbols or the colors of earth energy. This will foster the both the strength and stability you seek in these relationships. Symbols of earth energy include geodes, stone pots or sand sculptures. The colors of Earth energy are traditionally beige, sand and pale yellow.
4. Letting Cash Flow the Feng Shui way – Money runs like a river, but not uphill
Money, like everything else in Feng shui, has its own energy and it is similar to that of water. Since both energies are so similar, one can be used to encourage the other. Since money, like water, doesn’t run uphill, you need to make it easy for the money to find you. The back left corner as you enter is your ‘money area’. In traditional Feng shui, adding a water feature of kind to this area will encourage money to flow to it. Water features include small fountains; aquariums, (think beta fish) or even a picture of water will help the money flow. Just to be on the safe side a small piece of wood (but never larger then the water feature) should also go in this area. In Feng shui, wood balances out the problems that come with too much wealth.
5. Begin Your Journey the Feng Shui way – Embracing your future
Don’t forget about the area right in front of the door. In Feng shui, this is the part that influences your life’s journey. Each time you enter, you are taking another step on it. This area needs to be filled with good, welcoming intentions. A welcome mat would work nicely here, but so would something less tangible like the right music. Whatever you choose, you want it to have the right influence over your future. The most important thing to remember about this area is not put anything there that would block the way. (Like a desk.) In essence, you would be blocking your future. It’s also not a good idea to leave this space empty, or your future will also be empty.
Conclusion
Now that you know the secrets of office Feng Shui, don’t delay, apply these simple strategies to make your office a more productive and healthier place to work.

The following is a guest post by Kyle who writes for Medical Coding Certification.
Writing can be both difficult and rewarding. It is certainly a creative outlet, but there is also a technical aspect involved in any linguistic pursuit. So it takes a particular type of mind to really make a career out of writing. It can bring about feelings of euphoria (when you’re on a roll) or total depression (as the nefarious writer’s block strikes at random), but it is almost never boring. However, freelance writing, in particular, has its own special challenges and benefits. So before you leap at the chance to be your own boss (to an extent), examine some of the pros and cons associated with becoming a writer for hire.
Work from home. PRO: The major benefit of contract writing is that you can do it from the comfort of your cozy office. You can formulate a routine that works with your lifestyle and avoid the constant interruptions inherent in an office setting. Bonus: appropriate attire includes pajamas and you’ll avoid the morning commute! CON: You will literally have only your cat for companionship. Freelance writers can become very isolated if they don’t make an effort to get out of the house once in awhile. You also face constant distractions like pets that need attention, a house that could stand a little cleaning, and your evil arch-nemesis, daytime television.
Set your own schedule. PRO: If you want to go to lunch with friends, sneak in some time at the gym, or take in an afternoon movie, there is absolutely no reason you can’t schedule it in. The flexibility is what draws most people to at-home work. CON: You are solely responsible for how your time is allocated. That means you have to be diligent when it comes to setting work hours and sticking to them. If you thought you could earn a living by rising at the crack of noon and working for a couple of hours in the afternoon, you were dreaming. And there is no one to blame but yourself if you can’t pay the bills.
Variety. PRO: The great thing about freelance writing (as opposed to other types) is that you will enjoy a constantly changing palette of subject matter. This means that you will most likely be learning new things all the time and you can avoid the boredom of expounding upon the same topics all the time. CON: Freelance writing requires you to be a sort of pen-slinging jack of all trades since at any given time you might have to tackle a vast array of topics from computer technology to nursing degrees to eco-friendly home-building to shopping for wedding dresses. It all depends on the work that comes your way. For an individual who is not comfortable with research or has a hard time elucidating subjects on which they lack expert knowledge, this can be an extremely challenging and stressful aspect of the job.
Multiple clients. PRO: Since you are basically your own boss, you can take on as few or as many clients as you wish, and only accept repeat business from the ones you like, ensuring less stress and good working relationships. CON: One problem with taking on several clients is that you are bound to get some bad apples. You will have to deal with people who are demanding, irrational, and disrespectful, and you must remain professional throughout if you don’t want to risk a negative review.
Freedom. PRO: This is the absolute best reason to pursue a career in freelance writing. If you want to work 20 hours a week you are free to do so. Planning a vacation does not require anyone’s consent or the rearranging of a schedule. And once you are established, you can virtually pick and choose which jobs to take. In essence, you are in full control of your life and your time. CON: As much as this can be a blessing, it can also be a curse. Freedom, in many cases, equates to personal responsibility, so if you find yourself spending all day at the beach only to realize that you’ve missed a deadline, you may not have self-discipline required to make a living as a freelance writer.

Freelance Writing from Home: the Pros and Cons
